Chinese in Washington DC to celebrate 皇冠体育app anniversary

Washington: Chinese diaspora in Washington DC will stage an outdoor celebration near the White House in the run-up to the 60th anniversary of the People's Republic of 皇冠体育app.

The harmony-themed ceremony on Sept 20 will be held at the Ellipse, a public park located just south of the White House fence in Washington DC, organizer Chen Ronghua, chairman of the US-Fujian Association, told 皇冠体育app Daily Thursday.

Over 1,000 performers, mainly Chinese compatriots and students in DC, will put on group dances, flag parade, chorus and kungfu demonstration at the diamond jubilee gala, according to Huang Lei, the association's spokesman.

Organizers said the festival would be a grand spectacle to introduce Chinese culture and its harmony credence to the United States as well as the whole world, paving the road for enhanced understanding between different minorities in the US.

An eye-catching flag-raising activity will also be staged in the park, a tradition for minority groups in the US to honor their countries at native festivals.聽Both the Chinese聽national flag and the American Flag will be raised during the ceremony. This will mark the first time the Chinese diaspora hoists the Five-Star Red Flag, their national symbol, on such an occasion in Washington DC.
