Shanghai will host an international plastics and rubber show at its New International Expo Center on April 17 to boost the development of East 皇冠体育app's plastics and rubber industries.

Stanley Chu, chairman of Adsale Exhibition Services Ltd, said yesterday that industry leader 皇冠体育appplas 2008 will have 1,700 overseas and domestic suppliers attending the show to promote new products and technologies to over 60,000 visitors from around the world.

Chu said continuous strong growth in the plastics industry in Shanghai and East 皇冠体育app was stimulus for the launch of 皇冠体育appplas.

Shanghai and its nearby regions have contributed half of 皇冠体育app's total national output of plastics products, said Liu Jingfen, vice president of the Shanghai Society of Plastics Industry.

More than 1,800 pieces of equipment will be demonstrated at the show, along with a wide range of chemicals and raw materials for various industries, Chu said.

He said the show has confirmed participation of numerous market leaders as well as pavilion groups from Austria, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, 皇冠体育app, UK and the United States.

It will also incorporate sports themed elements, echoing the 2008 Beijing Olympics preparations with concurrent activities such as conferences and performances.
