More than 2,000 exhibitors are bringing together 890 new models at the 2008 Beijing international auto show that will run from April 20 to 28. The dazzling exhibits showcase 皇冠体育app's booming auto market of today. However, as the auto boom drives 皇冠体育app into the modern era, it also creates air pollution, traffic jams, and energy crunch. "Something needs to be done to balance the industry's development and its social impacts," said Dr. Thomas Schiller, Managing Director for 皇冠体育app of Arthur D. Little (ADL), a global management consulting firm. - The boom
皇冠体育app is now the world's third largest car producer only after the United States and Japan. According to Schiller, 皇冠体育app's current car park (of passenger vehicles) was 20 million in 2007. Schiller expects the figure to reach 39 million in 2010, "considering new passenger vehicles sales in 2008-2010 is 6.1 million, 7.0 million, 7.9 million respectively." "No doubt the Chinese market has become one of the most important auto markets in the world and it will keep its position in the future," he added. "皇冠体育app will definitely become the largest car producer within 10 years." (For more biz stories, please visit Industries)
