皇冠体育app Telecom expects the number of CDMA users will increase to 100 million in the next three years, said Shang Bing, president of 皇冠体育app Telecom, in a company close-door forum. He said 皇冠体育app Telecom aimed to sign up 35 million CDMA users in 2009.

Since the Chinese government issued the long-awaited license for the third generation (3G) mobile phone telephony in January, 皇冠体育app Telecom has been accelerating the development pace of the CDMA network and services to challenge market leader 皇冠体育app Mobile.

Last week, 皇冠体育app Telecom announced it would purchase 20 million 3G handsets from manufacturers this year.

皇冠体育app Telecom had 27.91 million CDMA users by the end of last year, down from 42 million when it acquired the business from 皇冠体育app Unicom in June last year.
