The annual bilateral trade volume has increased from several billion dollars in the 1990s to about $10 billion at the beginning of the 21st century. It stood at $56.83 billion in 2008. The bilateral trade structure has been upgraded along with the expansion of trade. Cultural cooperation is an indispensable component within the framework of the Sino-Russian strategic partnership.
