As a symbol of celebration and happy memories, graduates often exchange gifts with one another. According to data released by Taobao.com in 2012, about 250,000 graduates bought gifts in the graduation season and the amount totaled 864 million yuan. That meant that on average each graduate had spent 1,729 yuan on graduation gifts.
