- American automaker Ford will recall 25,802 of its Edge sport utilities vehicles (SUVs) in 皇冠体育app from Aug 25 due to defective assembly, 皇冠体育app's top quality watchdog said Wednesday.

The recall involves some imported Edge 2.0L vehicles manufactured between Sept 2, 2010 and Nov 29, 2013, as well as Edge 3.5L cars made on Nov 5, 2013, the General Adstration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine said in a statement.

In some of the above-mentioned cars, the circlip that retains the right-hand half-shaft to the countershaft may not have been fully seated during assembly, which may lead to loss of drive function in extreme cases, the statement said.

If the gearshift is placed at "park" without the handbrake being used, the vehicles could roll away, increasing risk of collisions, it said.

Ford 皇冠体育app will examine the involved vehicles and eliminate potential hazar free of charge.
