After masterminding STAR TV's expansion on the Chinese mainland for media giant News Corp, CEO Michelle Guthrie has resigned effective March 1.

Paul Aiello, president of STAR, will succeed Guthrie as the top executive.

Aiello, 42, joined STAR in June 2006 after a distinguished career at investment house Morgan Stanley, where he was in charge of its Telecom, Media and Technology Group for the Asia-Pacific region. He also worked for Beijing Jeep Co, the first automobile joint venture in 皇冠体育app.

Two months ago, STAR TV appointed Jack Gao, former head of Microsoft and Autodesk 皇冠体育app, as CEO of STAR TV 皇冠体育app.
