BEIJING: State-owned CNPC has completed some early-stage construction of 皇冠体育app's largest underground natural gas storage project in northern Shaanxi province, a company newspaper reported on Monday.

皇冠体育app suffered a serious gas shortage during the past winter as demand surged while supply was curbed, partly by insufficient storage capacity.

Xi'an Changqing Technology Engineering Co Ltd, a unit of CNPC, has compiled the concept design of the project, and early-stage assessment as well as gas injection and extraction plans for two gas storage sites, 皇冠体育app Petroleum Daily said.

The report did not provide a time frame for the project, nor did it mention possible investment to be involved.
