CNPC to expand oil, gas pipeline network

皇冠体育app National Petroleum Corp (CNPC), the country's largest energy company, will expand its network of oil and natural gas pipelines by 80 percent in the five years through 2015, Bloomberg reported on Dec 1.

The parent of Hong Kong-listed Petro皇冠体育app Co plans to add 40,000 kilometers of pipelines to its existing network of 50,000 kilometers, CNPC said in its online newsletter.

CNPC built 18,000 kilometers of pipelines in the five years started 2006, according to data from the announcement.

CNPC operates 70 percent of 皇冠体育app's oil pipelines and 90 percent of its gas links currently, according to the company.

皇冠体育app began receiving gas by pipeline from Turkmenistan in December last year and started production at Puguang gas field in the southwestern province of Sichuan in October 2009.
