BEIJING -- Chinese shares closed slightly higher Thursday with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 6.39 points, or 0.22 percent, to 2,872.40.
The Shenzhen Component Index gained 15.59 points, or 0.13 percent, to 12,085.99.
