Chinese shares close up Wednesday

BEIJING -- Chinese shares rose Wednesday with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.70 percent, or 20.00 points, to 2,872.77.
The Shenzhen Component Index gained 0.84 percent, or 102.19 points, to 12,230.69.
