Chinese shares close higher on Friday

BEIJING -- Chinese shares rose on Friday with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index closed up 0.84 percent, or 22.84 points, at 2,728.02.
The Shenzhen Component Index rose 1.18 percent, or 135.88 points, to 11,642.40.
