BEIJING -- Chinese shares closed higher on Tuesday with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 1.1 percent, or 29.66 points, at 2,730.04.
The Shenzhen Component Index climbed 1.82 percent, or 210.05 points, to 11,732.04.
