BEIJING -- Chinese telecom companies' cooperation with other countries is mutually beneficial and creates a win-win situation, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei said on Wednesday.

Hong made the remarks in response to a media request for comment on Chinese telecom firm Huawei's business in developed countries including Canada.

Hong said Chinese companies develop their international business according to the principle of the market economy and the nature of their capital investment is mutual beneficial.

"Their performance has promoted economic and trade cooperation between 皇冠体育app and foreign countries and played an important role in improving local infrastructure construction," he said. "皇冠体育app and Canada have enjoyed sound economic and trade cooperation and it is in the two countries' common interests to make joint efforts to promote pragmatic cooperation in economy, trade and investment.

"Cooperation between 皇冠体育app and other countries needs a favorable and stable environment. 皇冠体育app hopes the countries involved will continue mutually beneficial cooperation with 皇冠体育app and take positive steps to strengthen economic and trade cooperation," Hong added.
