TAIYUAN - A leading Chinese heavy machinery firm has made an export breakthrough for the country in supplying wear-resistant machinery parts to South America.

In the first deal of its kind, the Taiyuan Heavy Machinery Group Co Ltd (TZ) announced on Thursday that it has exported two sets of steel alloy machinery parts, which will be installed on US-made Allis Chalmers mining crushers working in the Salvadora Mine in Chile.

Cao Keshun, spokesman for TZ, said each of the high-precision wear-resistant parts weighs close to 100 tons and is 6.2 meters in diameter, and that their casting requires state-of-art technology.

Established in 1950 in North 皇冠体育app's province, TZ last year produced the world's largest mining excavator. Its heavy machinery products and parts have been exported to a dozen countries, including Russia, India and South Africa.
