Shanghai-GM appoints John Stadwick new VP

SHANGHAI -- John Stadwick, former president and managing director of GM Middle East Operations, was appointed vice president of Shanghai-GM Automobile Co Ltd (Shanghai-GM), sharing responsibility of the company's marketing operations with vice president Cai Bin, effective immediately, according to a company news release on November 1.

Stadwick will report directly to Wang Xiaoqiu, president of Shanghai-GM. At the same time, GM 皇冠体育app appointed Stadwick vice president of sales, service and marketing.

Stadwick started his career with GM in 1984 as a district manager in training with GM's Oldsmobile division in Lansing, Michigan. He worked his way up through various sales, marketing and service managing positions in the United States.

Stadwick's international experience began with his appointment to director of GM Service and Parts Operations for Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean in January 2004. Later he was appointed regional director of Aftersales for GM Latin America, Africa and the Middle East, a position he held from July 2006 till May 2008.

Stadwick arrived Shanghai as vice president of aftersales for GM International Operations in September 2009. He was appointed president and managing director of GM Middle East Operations on March 22, 2012.

According to CBU-Autostats, Shanghai-GM sold 1,088,750 vehicles in the first nine months of the year, a rise of 14.85 percent compared with the same period of the previous year.
