Romeo Beckham diagnosed with epilepsy

David and Victoria Beckham's four-year-old son Romeo has been diagnosed with epilepsy.

Posh and Becks were devastated after doctors confirmed that their child had the neurological condition and became instantly worried that camera flashes from the paparazzi will cause frequent fits.

The couple's worst fears were confirmed last weekend when Romeo reacted violently after being snapped at Heathrow as he returned to Britain with Victoria and his two brothers.

A source told the News of the World: "Romeo was very distressed. He hates flashes going off because he knows what they can do to him. Normally he just shields his eyes but this was right in his face. There was nowhere for them to go.

"Victoria was really scared and tried to shield him. She was furious."

A close friend of the Beckhams added: "While it's heartbreaking, he is being brave. They are devastated - worried sick about Romeo. He is on medication to control the seizures but obviously things like flashing lights can trigger one at any time."
