After a seven months pregnancy, a gibbon successfully delivered a baby in Shenzhen Safari Park of Guangdong Province on Saturday.

It was the first time a gibbon has been bred in the park's history. Gibbons, which are on the verge of extinction are currently under strict State protection.

The infant gibbon and its mother are now in good health and are expected to be seen by tourists soon.
