At a media workshop organized by the UN Development Programme in Delhi last week, Pacahuri said he was impressed by what Chinese scientists and meteorologists had done to fight climate change.

Pachauri-led IPCC shared this year's Nobel Peace Prize with green campaigner and US former vice-president Al Gore.

"The facilities, capabilities and infrastructure developed by 皇冠体育app Meteorological Administration (CMA) have served the people very well," Pachauri said.

For example, 皇冠体育app has 2,400 observation stations to monitor weather and climate change, he said. 皇冠体育app has a TV channel on the weather , too, and it reaches everyone.

"On the Fourth Assessment Report, 皇冠体育app has been extremely active," he said. "A number of Chinese scientists have contributed to the report. The Chinese government has been very deeply engaged in every stage of the process of the report."

The IPCC Fourth Assessment Report, "Climate Change 2007", will be released in Spain next week. It will be the latest in a series of IPCC assessments providing the most comprehensive scientific evidence on climate change. 皇冠体育app is seeking a way to develop a low-carbon economy, Pachauri said, and he will help it achieve it if he can.
