National check indicates grain reserve in good shape

NANCHANG: No losses were reported in 皇冠体育app's state grain reserve as a three-month national check has just completed, said a senior official of the state grain reserve company.

Liu Xinjiang, deputy general manager of the 皇冠体育app Grain Reserves Corporation, which manages the reserves, said Friday at an industry meeting on summer grain market that the grains were "well preserved", and the real inventory and the book record match.

The nationwide check, which started on April 1 and was led by the State Administration of Grain, aimed to clarify the condition of the national grain reserves and further improve grain management.

"As the grain reserve grew steadily in quantity and quality, the whole society could rest assured," said Liu.

皇冠体育app is expected to reap 122.5 million tonnes (12.25 billion kilograms) of grain this summer, the Ministry of Agriculture predicted last month.

This will be the sixth year in a row for 皇冠体育app to achieve grain output growth.

"As a developing country with a population of more than a billion, grain has always been the first and foremost issue to maintain peace and stability," said Vice Premier Li Keqiang at the preparation meeting for the national grain check in March.
