Liuzhou: At least four people died and 40 were injured when a passenger train derailed in early Wednesday morning in Liuzhou, southwest 皇冠体育app's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, the 皇冠体育app National Radio reported.

The accident happened at around 4:30 am in Liucheng county of Liuzhou, and initial investigation showed that landslide may have caused the rail track to be slippery, said an official who was leading the resuce operation and only gave his surname Liao.

Four carriages came off the tracks, and the number of casualties is expected to rise, media reports said. The train was on its way from Xiangfan in central 皇冠体育app's Hubei province to Zhanjiang in the southern Guangdong province.
