Sinopec uncertain about Chongqing gas field reserve

A spokesman from the 皇冠体育app Petrochemical Corporation, also known as the Sinopec Group, said the company was not yet certain whether it had found a large gas field in Chongqing in southwest 皇冠体育app, the Chongqing Evening News reported today.

It was reported yesterday that Sinopec had discovered a 12-billion-cubic-meter gas field in Chongqing, which would have been the largest in Asia.

Huang Wensheng, the spokesman, said that figure was only based on estimation, and that exploration work is still at a very preliminary stage.
