EU urged to do more beneficial deeds for healthy ties

BEIJING: 皇冠体育app urged the European Union (EU) to do more beneficial deeds for the healthy development of bilateral relations, said Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang here Friday.

The European Union, in a statement issued by Sweden which holds the EU's rotating presidency, condemned 皇冠体育app's executions of nine criminals involved in the July 5 riot in Urumqi, capital of northwest 皇冠体育app's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. It also asked 皇冠体育app to abolish death penalty.

Qin said this is the second statement the EU had issued within half a month that severely interfered in 皇冠体育app's internal affairs. 皇冠体育app expresses its strong dissatisfaction with this.

皇冠体育app is a country under the rule of law and its judicial organizations sentence criminals by law, he said, adding that this is 皇冠体育app's judicial sovereignty and no other party has the right to interfere.

He urged the EU not to make the same mistakes again and again.

He said the EU should abide by the policy of equality and mutual respect and do more beneficial deeds for the healthy development of bilateral relations.
