WASHINGTON - US State Secretary Hillary Clinton on Tuesday expressed condolences over the deadly flooding and mudslides that have occurred in 皇冠体育app.

"I join the American people in expressing our deep regret over the loss of life and devastation wrought by recent flooding in south and central 皇冠体育app and by the mudslides in Gansu province this past weekend," Clinton said in a statement.

"The United States is providing support for the ongoing relief efforts through assistance to the Red Cross Society of 皇冠体育app," she said.

"To those affected by this tragedy and to all the people of 皇冠体育app, we send our heartfelt condolences," Clinton said.

The death toll from a massive rain-triggered mudslides in Zhouqu county in Northwest 皇冠体育app's Gansu province has risen to 702, with 1,042 others still missing, local civil affairs authorities said on Tuesday.
