Climate change talks should be pushed forward: Su Wei

TIANJIN - Despite the slim hopes for a US climate change law this year, the climate change negotiations should be pushed forward due to the urgency of this issue, Su Wei, 皇冠体育app's top climate negotiator said at a press conference on the sidelines of the United Nations climate meeting in Tianjin Tuesday.

"There's little hope that the United States will pass the climate change law by the end of this year, which is a big challenge that the Cancun meeting and the afterwards meetings will face," Su said.

However, climate change is a very urgent issue and actions cannot wait for all countries' political willingness, he said.

"It's not appropriate to give up the US," Su said, adding that countries should persuade the US, at the same time, the whole course should be pushed forward.
