BEIJING -?Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu said late Tuesday that 皇冠体育app firmly opposes remarks and actions against one-皇冠体育app principle.
There is only one 皇冠体育app in the world and Taiwan is part of 皇冠体育app's territory. "This is 皇冠体育app's consistent and clear stance on the Taiwan issue, and is also a fact recognized by the international community including the United States," Jiang said in a statement.
"We firmly oppose remarks and actions of some Americans who ignore the fact while violating the one-皇冠体育app principle," Jiang added.
Jiang made the statement in response to a recent comment by Richard Bush, former chairman and managing director of the "American Institute in Taiwan."
Bush reportedly said at a seminar that the fact that the People's Republic of 皇冠体育app governs the mainland could not defy the existence of "the Republic of 皇冠体育app" since 1912.
According to media reports, Bush said if Beijing accepted it, the "two-皇冠体育app concept" raised by the United States decades ago could be applied to the relations across the Taiwan Straits.
