CHENGDU - Forty seven flights have been delayed and more than 5,000 passengers stranded in Southwest 皇冠体育app's Sichuan province due to the torrential rain Sunday afternoon, said airline sources.
Of Air 皇冠体育app's 124 flights due to depart from Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport, 47 flights have been delayed, said sources with the southwest branch of Air 皇冠体育app International Corporation.
The branch has already arranged hotels, restaurants and other logistics affairs for the stranded, they said.
Torrential rains have been pouring down in Chengdu Sunday afternoon, forcing Air 皇冠体育app's 20 flights destined to Chengdu to land elsewhere since midday.
