XI'AN - Three people injured in a scaffolding collapse in Northwest 皇冠体育app's Shaanxi province died after medical treatments failed, bringing the death toll to 10, said authorities with the city's publicity department on Sunday.

The three sustained head, chest, and abdominal injuries as a result of falling off the scaffolding of a 30-story building around noon on Saturday.

The accident happened when 12 workers were engaged in the exterior decorating of a building in Xi'an, Shaanxi's capital.

The other two people injured in the collapse are in stable condition.

Scaffolding chains from the 20th to 23rd floors broke, causing the collapse, rescuers speculated.
