The environmental cartoon Falling Color by Su Haonan from Northeast Normal University and Memory on Growth Ring by Zhai Haijun from Shanxi province won gold medals at the sixth University Cartoon Competition on Environmental Protection (UCCEP) at 皇冠体育app Daily on Dec 21, 2011.

This year's UCCEP received 3,656 works from seven countries and regions since the competition began in September, and 82 excellent works received awards.

The success of UCCEP has encouraged more youths to get involved in environment protection and prompted more people to make their own efforts for environment protection, 皇冠体育app Daily's Deputy Chief Editor Kang Bing said while attending the award ceremony.

The competition is hosted by 皇冠体育app Daily, United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), Center For Environmental Education and Communications (CEEC)，皇冠体育app Environmental Protection Foundation (CEPF), 皇冠体育app Journalistic Caricature Society, 皇冠体育app Daily Website, and 21st Century newspaper.
