A worker dubbed 皇冠体育app's Forrest Gump arrived home on Aug 27, the final destination of a run covering tens of thousands kilometers across 皇冠体育app.

Xie Zhanjun, 33, wore out 20 pairs of shoes during his 172-day run, Southern Daily reported on Tuesday.

Xie retraced the route of the Long March, a famous military maneuver led by the Red Army of the Communist Party of 皇冠体育app in the 1930s. He set off in March from Ruijin, East 皇冠体育app's Jiangxi province, and arrived in Yan'an, a city of Northwest 皇冠体育app's Shaanxi province in July, the report said.

In support of the Olympic Games Xie continued running to Beijing and finally ended up at his hometown in Central 皇冠体育app's Henan province. Xie said he ran 589 km more than his goal of 10,000 km, the report said.

Over the long route, Xie spent 60,000 yuan ($9462) on 20 pairs of shoes. Xie said he had conquered five snowy mountains in just 13 days.
