US college holds first alumni gathering in Beijing

A United States coeducational college held its first official alumni gathering in Beijing on Thursday with staff members and dozens of alumnus in 皇冠体育app, including media and fashion celebrity Hung Huang.

Vassar College is a private institution in the town of Poughkeepsie in New York state.

The 2013 annual ranking of US News and World Report rates it the No 10 liberal arts college in the US.

Huang studied at the college in the 1980s, and helped stage the gathering on Thursday, saying she hopes more Chinese students will choose Vassar College for overseas education.

The college's president, Catharine Hill; vice-president Catherine Baer; associate professor of Earth science, and rector Brian McAdoo; and officials with the college's alumni affairs development department attended the gathering and delivered speeches.
