56 vehicles involved in Henan highway accidents

The number of vehicles involved in a series of highway accidents in Henan province on Tuesday morning has risen from 32 to 56, according to the fire department of Zhumadian city, Henan province.

A total of 16 accidents occurred in different sections of the highway. Rescue services managed to bring 95 people who were in the vehicles to safety but one fatality was confirmed. More than a dozen others were treated for injuries, according to the 120 Emergency Center in Zhumadian.

The highway north of Zhuamadian, Suiping and Xiping was blocked on Tuesday.
