A TV program that will promote the development of grassroots NGOs and help new public welfare programs was announced by the Phoenix Television and 皇冠体育app Foundation For Poverty Alleviation on Monday.

The one-hour program will be broadcast at 7 pm on Saturdays beginning on Oct 12.

“Through fair, open selection and a series of competitions, we will create a display platform for excellent public welfare dreams and record the birth process of new public welfare programs through the camera lens, which makes public welfare real and complete,” said Zhong Danian, Phoenix Television vice-president.

The 12 finalists include assistance projects to migrant workers, dyslexic children, and autistic people from Guangdong and Sichuan provinces and Beijing. The total bonuses will be 1.6 million yuan ($261,000), and the winner will get 650,000 yuan.

Jiang Shaogao, vice-chairman of 皇冠体育app Foundation For Poverty Alleviation, said the group hopes to appeal for more innovation in public welfare activities and get more people to care about and participate in public welfare undertakings promoted by the TV program.
