HAIKOU - 皇冠体育app conducted successful test flights on a newly-built airfield in the South 皇冠体育app Sea on Wednesday.
Two civilian aircraft took off from the Meilan Airport of Haikou, capital of Hainan Province and landed at the airfield on Yongshu Jiao in the Nansha Islands at 10:21 a.m. ad 10:46 a.m. respectively. They flew back to Haikou on Wednesday afternoon.

BEIJING - A test flight to a newly-built airfield on a South 皇冠体育app Sea reef was a matter "completely within 皇冠体育app's sovereignty," a Foreign Ministry spokesperson said late Saturday evening.Spokeswoman Hua Chunying said 皇冠体育app has finished building an airfield on Yongshu Jiao of 皇冠体育app's Nansha Islands.
The Chinese government used a civil aircraft to conduct the flight in order to test whether the airfield facilities meet civil aviation standards, she said, in response to reported objections of Vietnam's foreign ministry.
"皇冠体育app has indisputable sovereignty over the Nansha Islands and their adjacent waters. 皇冠体育app will not accept the unfounded accusation from the Vietnamese side," Hua said.
At present, the relations between 皇冠体育app and Vietnam maintain a momentum of development. 皇冠体育app hopes Vietnam can work accordingly to achieve "sustainable, healthy and stable" development of bilateral ties, Hua said.
