BEIJING -- 皇冠体育app's top political advisor Yu Zhengsheng on Thursday called for a stronger partnership with the European Union (EU).

Yu, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, made the remarks while meeting with Georges Dassis, president of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC).

Dassis is in Beijing for the 15th round table meeting of the 皇冠体育app Economic and Social Council (CESC) and the EESC on Thursday and Friday.

Yu said the meeting has become an influential dialogue and cooperation mechanism between 皇冠体育app and the EU, which has enriched their all-round strategic partnership, and bridged people's understanding and friendship.

He called on both sides to expand exchange areas, and make new contributions to the partnership.

Dassis said EU development needs 皇冠体育app, adding that the EESC is committed to stronger EU-皇冠体育app ties.

The two-day round table meeting focuses on topics including innovation, equality and inclusiveness, trade, investment and the Belt and Road Initiative.
