Djokovic writes off his own Wimbledon hopes

HALLE, Germany: World No 4 Novak Djokovic wrote off his Wimbledon chances on Sunday after slumping to a 6-3, 6-7 (4/7), 6-1 defeat to Germany's Tommy Haas in the Halle grasscourt final.

The Serbian, top seed in the absence of Roger Federer, had made hard work of beating qualifier Olivier Rochus from Belgium in his semifinal and his faltering form continued on grass with Wimbledon just a week away.

"Because I went out early there last year and because I didn't play at my top-level here, I would definitely not rate myself as a favourite for the title in London," said former Australian Open champion Djokovic.
