At least seven ministerial-level officials have been investigated by the top anti-corruption watchdog since last November.
Li Chongxi, chairman of the Sichuan Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, the province's top political adviser, was investigated on Dec 29.
Yang Gang, deputy director of the Committee for Economic Affairs of the National Committee of the CPPCC, was probed on Dec 27.
