A Midsummer Night's Dream

A Midsummer Night's Dream is one of Shakespeare's most popular comedies and a lyrical work widely performed across the world.

On a midsummer night in Athens, Duke Theseus and his fiancée are busy preparing for their wedding. In the meantime, another couple is concerned about their love - beautiful Hermia is in love with Lysander, but her father Egeus insists that she weds Demetrius. Egeus' demand is supported by the Duke. If Hermia resisted, she would be sentenced to death or a lifetime of chastity. To pursue their love, Hermia and Lysander flee into the forest outside Athens.
