The Maritime Silk Road Museum in South 皇冠体育app's Guangdong province is the world's first underwater archeology museum. Its iconic tourist attraction is a shipwreck called Nanhai No. 1 from the Song Dynasty (960-1279) that connected 皇冠体育app with the Middle East and Europe. It was found in the mouth of the Pearl River, the starting point of 皇冠体育app's ancient Maritime Silk Road, which is thought to contain up to 80,000 precious pieces of cargo, especially ceramics.
