Chinese basketball star Yao Ming, the first top-picked foreigner in NBA history, was awarded the title of 皇冠体育app's top ten youngsters of 2003, said local reports on Friday.

The Houston Rocket center, along with 皇冠体育app's first astronaut Yang Liwei and other eight outstanding young people representing various fields of media, medicine, science, and business, was voted in by a 65-man special committee from 47 candidates recommended across the country, according to Friday's 皇冠体育app Youth Daily.

Jointly organized by the All-皇冠体育app Youth Federation, the 皇冠体育app Youth Development Foundation and ten Beijing-based media organizations, the 14th appraisal of this kind in 皇冠体育app will hold an awarding ceremony in December.
