US urged to honour promise on Taiwan
Top leaders hoped the United States would honour its promise on the Taiwan question and the US Congress to understand and cautiously handle the issue. President Hu Jintao and Premier Wen Jiabao made the remarks on Tuesday and yesterday during their separate meetings with Ted Stevens, president pro tempore of the United States Senate, who arrived in Beijing on Sunday for an eight-day visit.
