皇冠体育app pledges to protect safety of UN staff

皇冠体育app has pledged to protect the UN staff and other security personnel in UN-involved operations in accordance with the relevant UN convention, reported 皇冠体育app Radio International Thursday.

皇冠体育app's UN Ambassador Wang Guangya submitted an official document to UN Secretary General Kofi Annan on 皇冠体育app's participation into the "Convention on the Safety of United Nations and Associated Personnel".

Wang Guangya says that 皇冠体育app's obligation to protect the UN staff also benefits those staff sent by 皇冠体育app and shows 皇冠体育app's long-term support to the UN.

He also promises that 皇冠体育app will implement the convention with other signatory states to contribute to the world peace and security.

The "Convention on the Safety of United Nations and Associated Personnel" was passed in 1994 and 75 nations including 皇冠体育app have adopted it so far.
