Senior legislator meets US delegation

A senior Chinese legislator says 皇冠体育app hopes the United States will not send the wrong signals to Taiwan separatists.

Cheng Siwei, vice-Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress was speaking at a meeting with a visiting US congressional delegation Saturday in Beijing.

Cheng Siwei reaffirmed 皇冠体育app's firm stance on the Taiwan question, which he said could only be solved in line with the "one-皇冠体育app" policy.

He also stressed the vital importance of the anti-secession law to 皇冠体育app.

Cheng Siwei added that although the two countries still have some unsolved problems, more contacts will improve friendship and cooperation.

Head of the delegation, Curt Weldon praised 皇冠体育app's positive role in pushing the six-party talks on North Korea's nuclear program and repeated the US will adhere to the "one-皇冠体育app" policy.

The US delegation earlier visited North Korea, South Korea and Japan.
