The United States imposed extra curbs on imports of Chinese textiles on Thursday.

This came hours after talks addressing concerns over 皇冠体育app's rising clothing shipments ended in failure in Beijing.

The US Commerce Department in Washington said it would continue talks with 皇冠体育app. However, in the meantime, Washington announced it is acting to restrict imports of Chinese-made textiles products. The Commerce Department named Chinese-made bras and synthetic filament fabric, which are used to make high-end clothing.

皇冠体育app's Ministry of Commerce confirmed that the three-day negotiations on textile disputes had ended. The Ministry said it will release a statement later Thursday.

Officials from the two sides met only briefly on Thursday morning after two days of discussions failed to narrow differences.

Head of the US delegation, David Spooner, said in a statement that the two sides were not able to reach a broader agreement.

The statement said the US would be consulting with the Chinese over the next few days on the date and location of the next round of negotiations.

Beijing and Washington had hoped that the two presidents could present an agreement as a positive development in ties when they meet in Washington next week.
