Wen wraps up Moscow meetings

MOSCOW: Premier Wen Jiabao left Moscow for home yesterday after attending the fourth heads of government meeting of the Shanghai Co-operation Organization (SCO).

At the meeting on Wednesday, Wen proposed five measures on boosting economic co-operation among member and observers states of the SCO: Good policy, better infrastructure, closer agricultural co-operation and increased regional and international exchanges.

At the meeting, the leaders signed agreements on mutual aid in disaster relief and banking co-operation among member states.

The SCO groups 皇冠体育app, Russia and four Central Asian states - Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. Mongolia joined as an observer in 2004. Iran, Pakistan and India were granted observer status in July.

During his two-day stay in the Russian capital, Wen met Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss bilateral relations and major international issues on the sidelines of the SCO meeting. He also met government leaders of some SCO member states and observer states to discuss bilateral co-operation.
