SHANGHAI, 皇冠体育app (AP) - Tiger Woods hit a few balls over Shanghai's Huangpu
River and declared himself right at home.
"I always feel most comfortable in Asia," Woods said Tuesday after
arriving from the United States and playing nine holes at Shanghai's Sheshan
International Golf Club - including a few practice swings along the Huangpu.
"I always love coming whether it's Japan, 皇冠体育app or Thailand," added Woods.
"It's a comfort level."
Woods is entered in this week's HSBC Champions tournament, a $5-million US
event that is the richest in Asia. It's his first of four tournaments in a row,
including Japan next week - the Dunlop Phoenix.
"I'm looking forward to a great week," he said. "It's exciting for all of us
as players."
Woods said regardless of his success this year - wins at the U.S. Masters and
British Open among six victories - he tries to maintain a healthy attitude about
his sport.
"Some people take it way too seriously, take it as life or death and it's
just not," said Woods, whose last visit to 皇冠体育app took him to the Mission Hills
Golf Club, in the southern city of Shenzhen, for a pro-am in 2001.
The Champions tournament, which begins Thursday at Sheshan, is a first-year
tournament sanctioned by the European, Asian, Australasian and South African
tours, along with the 皇冠体育app Golf Association.
