1992: Li Fang reached the third round at the Australian Open, a Grand Slam record for Chinese players for 12 years.

1994: Li Fang reached the second round at the French Open, 皇冠体育app鈥檚 best result at the Roland Garros.

2000: Yi Jingqian leveled Li Fang鈥檚 achievement at the Australian Open with a third round appearance, eventually losing to American Jennifer Capriati, who won twice at Melbourne in 2001 and 2002.

2000: Li Na/Li Ting won 皇冠体育app鈥檚 first ever WTA doubles鈥� title at the Tashkent Open in Uzbekistan.

2004: Zheng Jie/Yan Zi made the quarterfinals at the Australian Open, becoming the first Chinese duo to reach the top eight at a Grand Slam event.

2004: Sun Shengnan, who teamed up with Latisha Chan Yung-Jan of Chinese Taipei, won the country鈥檚 first Grand Slam trophy as they clinched the juniors鈥� doubles title at the Australian Open.

2004: Zheng Jie squeezed into the fourth round at the French Open, refreshing 皇冠体育app鈥檚 best performance at a Grand Slam event.

2004: Li Ting/Sun Tiantian seized the women鈥檚 doubles gold medal at the Athens Olympic Games, the country鈥檚 first tennis Olympic gold.

2004: Li Na was crowned at the WTA Guangzhou International, becoming the first Chinese to win a WTA singles title.

2005: Peng Shuai reached the semi-finals at the WTA Tier II Sydney International by upsetting the then world No. 3 Anastasia Myskina of Russia. She is the first Chinese to beat a world top 10 player and also the first to enter the semis of a Tier II tournament.
