 The 3rd High-Tech Week in 2000 attracted more than 500 exhibitors, such as multinationals, high-tech companies, science parks and research institutes, including throngs of visitors from home and abroad.
Covering a total floor space of 28,000 square meters, High-tech Week produced nearly 700 business deals, netting a total US$6.023 billion in contracts. From this figure US$4.460 billion was earmarked for high-tech projects, accounting for 74.1 percent.
 Beijing alone scored 58 percent of the deals and other Chinese regions shared 42 percent.
