Naked protest over fur industry

Australian Animal Liberation protesters pose for photographers during the launch of an anti-fur campaign in a central Sydney park.[Agencies]

She said Animal Liberation had decided not to follow in the footsteps of high-profile overseas campaigns and enlist celebrities, because they wanted their message to appeal to the average person on the street.

"We did have discussions as to whether we would use celebrities or models, but we thought that wouldn't appeal to the average person.

"We decided to use activities and average representatives of the public so it doesn't seem it's just the celebrities who are wearing fur, because it is average people wearing it as well.

"We used the average person on the street to appeal to the person on the street."
